Maersk Line, the global containerised division of the Maersk Group, announced the successful execution of its first reefer as well as dry Store Door shipments from customer’s doorstep via Haldia Dock Complex to destinations in Los Angeles, Alexandria, Newark and Savannah. The consignments were traditionally shipped from Kolkata Port; however, with the opportunity of increased draught and its fixed weekly sailings, Haldia offered a better prospect for the customer.
Maersk Line has been committed to the East Indian market, and its efforts were also recognised by industry peers at the beginning of this year when it was adjudged as the Container Shipping Line of the Year in Kolkata.

Maersk enables end-to-end (Store Door) shipments of refrigerated as well as dry cargo from the customer’s factory via Haldia Dock Complex to destinations in Los Angeles, Alexandria, Newark and Savannah
The Haldia Dock Complex, with its fixed weekly connections, has reduced cargo dwell time from 7 days to 3 days thus saving significantly on transportation and warehousing costs.
